Cory mahaffey

Gathering courage to be a gatherer

Cory Mahaffey resides in Lake Oswego Oregon and is married to Heidi Mahaffey and they have 3 children.  Cory has been in the financial industry for 27 years and is passionate about helping people prosper financially and in life.  He is active in his community and church.  Professionally he has held numerous leadership roles including most recently, Managing Partner of Northwestern Mutual Oregon and SW Washington.  Cory is very focused on leadership and personal development.  Earlier this year he sold his firm and is in the process of beginning his next adventure.  When Cory is not working or spending time with his family he enjoys lifting weights, martial arts, snowboarding and golf.

Gathering strength during difficult trials through Jesus Christ

Kristi Park grew up in the West Linn/Wilsonville area. She is an active leader in her community, volunteering for many events and serving on the Library Foundation Board where she has been instrumental in bringing “Little Free Libraries” to several neighborhoods throughout Wilsonville.

 

Kristi is also active in her Church, most recently serving as a refugee specialist, helping connect those in the LDS Church and community with Refugee Resettlement agencies, to find meaningful ways to help Refugees in the area while bringing about awareness.

​

When not serving in the Church or community, Kristi teaches part-time at Victory Academy, a private year-round school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She enjoys all things crafty, playing the flute, and traveling abroad. Kristi and her husband, Art, are avid BYU fans. They have two adult children and reside in Wilsonville with their dog, Jimmer.

kathryn latour

Musical Seminar

Kathryn Latour has been making music all her life.  Born into a large family of singers, Kathryn performed regularly with her family in church. She served as Ward Primary Pianist at age 10, Sunday School Organist at age 12, and Sacrament Meeting Organist at age 14.  At BYU Kathryn joined the University Choir under Donald Staheli before transferring to the University of Utah where she graduated cum laude in English.

Kathryn graduated Stanford Law School with a focus on Human Rights.  While at Stanford Kathryn sang with the Valparaiso Singers,which toured locally, to Carnegie Hall twice, and to Russia. Her husband, Wouter’s career took the family to Europe for 13 years where Kathryn was a delegate at the Human Rights Conference at The Hague Peace Palace.

Returning with family to California in 2005, Kathryn rejoined the Valparaiso Singers as a soprano then as Conductor and played for the Redwood Ringers Bell Choir.  While teaching International Law at Menlo College she formed and conducted the Menlo College Chorale, a 40-voice student group, and started the children’s choir, Sing with the Heart.

Kathryn moved to Portland in 2021 and began composing choral works.  She currently sings alto for Portland Choir & Orchestra.

Kristi Crusan

Musical Seminar

Kristi Crusan studied Vocal Performance and Music Dance Theatre at BYU and traveled with University Singers and Young Ambassadors. She studied with Meyer Friedman at the International School of Voice and presented vocal techniques at the International Symposium of Audiology. She taught private voice lessons at BYU before opening her own vocal studio. Her talents have taken her to Opryland USA in Nashville, Russia, and South Korea. She has performed with such artists as Michael McLean, Janice Kapp Perry, Donny Osmond and Michael Ballam. She has also recently starred in Gypsy and Into the Woods in Vancouver. Kristi currently resides in Ridgefield, WA with her husband Ben and the youngest three of her five children.

Please join us for sacrament meeting featuring an exceptional speaker, Dan Harris, 2nd Counselor in the Portland Temple Presidency and a chance for you to share your testimony about the gathering. We would love for you to attend and be uplifted by shared testimonies of Jesus Christ.

Portland Oregon Presidency, 2nd Counselor

Daniel Harris grew up in the Willamette Valley. Dan has a bachelor's degree in political science from BYU and a law degree from the University of Oregon. He attended University of Oregon where he met his wife Susan. They raised their family of five in Ashland, Oregon. 

They served a mission in Russia (2017-2019), assisting with legal matters from the Moscow are office, especially facilitating humanitarian projects in the 17 countries of the Europe East Area. They were called into the temple presidency in the summer of 2022 and have been serving in that capacity since.

To conclude the conference, we'll be having a potluck dinner where everyone can contribute their favorite dishes. It's a perfect opportunity to socialize and be filled with good food and great company.
